Act 2

Amends – Michael Cohen

November 6, 2018

In the Federal courthouse of lower Manhattan, Michael Cohen addresses the court

I’ve done some things that I’m not proud
Said some things a little too loud
But now’s the time to make amends
To tell the truth no matter where it ends.

I have lied and I have cheated
I’ve brought men down laughed at the defeated
But now’s the time to change my ways
Try to do what’s right for the rest of my days.

If I could undo the things I’ve done
Heal the hurt that I’ve begun
If I could unsay the words and all of the lies –
Now’s the time, the time to make amends.

If I could give back the lives I’ve shattered
Unbreak the bonds that really mattered
If I could put back the broken pieces of everything in my way –
Now’s the time, the time to make amends.

I was loyal when it wasn’t returned
All my devotion my friendship spurned
But now’s the time to do what’s right
Hold my head up take a stand and fight.

For all my sins I accept my fate
If I could turn back time but it’s too late
But now’s the time to make amends
To tell the truth no matter where it ends.
